Wink Momma don' allow no herring 'round here..

This morning's Ditch fishing was nifty, sans herring. It's a great feeling to see Roccus knockin' those jigs and other non-organic items. I fished the last of the west tide, hooked seven pretty decent fish. Landed five, 3 of which were keepers, largest being just shy of 15 lbs.

Went down the other end to fish the beginning of the east, and for a while it was a fish on nearly every cast, albeit small stuff. I ran out of steam soon thereafter....I would not be suprised to hear of larger fish as the current picked up later in the A.M.

What a good morning though: overcast, a little mist in the air, slight over-the-shoulder breeze...and fish were present. That's hitting on all cylinders in my book. 'Cept did not see my man JP. Where you at? (I got the biggest on my 'carnival' lure...)

I did meet Hunan, whose name I have seen in these parts. Nice guy, would fish with him anytime. Nice to place a face with some of the characters that post...

Harrible,

Been ill since last week. Walking pnuemonia kinda thing ( haven't been to Toronto so it's not SARS).

I'll be around most of this weekend every am - sick or not.

Got some skin jigs ya might want to take a look at if you can tear yourself away from the carnival.

Glad you did well harrible. Smokey and I have decided to give up on herring and start the serious fishing tomorrow night. Hope we do as well as you.

Thumbs up Like old times....

It will be great to see you regulars again: Slip, JP, Saltheart & Smokey, Ditch, all the other canal fishers that hang out 'round here....a good crowd....the wonder of the Internet site, eh? Pretty good way to make friends. Congrats on how this site has grown, John.....from modest beginnings to a well visited, pretty slick setup....tain't easy, I know.

Be lookin' for the BigFish and other new friends too.

Saltheart, if I know you, you guys will do as well as anyone....pariticularly if you use those eelskin rigs you build...shoot, I am just hoping I will have some more good days as the water gets warmer.

Get better Jim...they are closing in on your rock....

walking pnuemonia and spices

Spices and spicey hot food will double the power of your imune system so when you're sick and you still have an appetite try eating something hot and spicey....i usually have cajun shrimp
so hot that sweat beads up on your nose in less than a minute and you get a rush in your brain like a herd of stampeeding cattle.
i always have garlic bread too As garlic is natures antibiotic that doesnt kill the good bacteria like prescribed antibiotics do....only kills the bad bacteria. then if you liked sweet tart candy as a kid
go to CVS and get the 500 milligram acerola losenges to take fishing with you as 9 will fit in a film canister.... thats just under 5 grand of vitamin C ammo lol -> that's a personal remedy of mine.
SO>get well soon
ps. Remember that what goes in hot also comes out HOT
so use spice's amd spicey food wisely....or pay the price.
don't just dump it on....and say....oh well, the more the better.
