Rhode Island Surfcasting

Can anyone give me any advice on a good beach to do some surfcasting for stripers in Rhode Island.

I usually fish Plum Island, but haven't had much luck there.

Thanks.

Probably the easiest / best beaches to fish in Rhody are over by the CG House in Narragansett and Charlestown Beach - right next to the Charlestown Breachway. The only disclaimer I'll add is that I've never chunked Rhody and probably never will. That being said I've caught decent bass in both using plugs / eels...

Click on one of your friendly S-B sponsor’s pages....

There are lots of tips, books, etc...
As far as beaches go I would recommend Matunuck and Second Beach in Newport right about now – but the fish are in solid in a couple of hundred places.

I'm not much of a chunker either....the site is geared towards eel/plug fishermen.

gansett beach, matunuck beaches, charlestown. if you are feeling adventurous check out the rocks from pt jude lighthouse to scuzzborough beach.

Is it good, or is it Sofa King good?
