Angry If you are ever in RI …

And need a place to catch some ZZZzzz’s… May I recommend the Westerly Hospital Emergency Room…

Yup’, this is a reminder to be careful out there! Korkers help ya’ on the wet rocks but, as Fishpart said in another thread, “overall they are good BUT NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR COMMON SENSE” which, unlike my korkers, I forgot to pack Fri. night.

So, as I sit here and peck this out with one hand, as my other is in a sling… I remind you to pick up your feet when you walk!

Be safe out there! Oh, and th 3rd shift crew at Westerly Hosp really is nice!

Tight Lines,
Rob

BTW:
Nice to meet Don, John and Fishpart, before I took a digger.

Oh, and Nils, I didn’t know my arm was that bad until I got back to the car and saw it looked like someone had stuffed a baseball in my forearm! It didn’t really bother me much the ½ hr I stayed and fished w/ it.

Unhappy

Ouch.

Do feel better.

Sometimes I wonder if a crash helmet would be another welcome addition to the RI rockpile fishing inventory - something to protect the ole brain bucket when my common sense isn't plugged in.

Korkers and a headlamp.....light spooks fish, true....but you will not catch any fish from the ER....Rhody fishing is very good but specialized.
(I visited that ER once to have a 7/0 jig removed from my forearm.)

Rob - Westerly Hospital is well versed in fishing injuries - most often plug removal...

Hope everything gets better soon & back on the rocks... What did your better half say ?

A lot of people don't do it but I almost always have the light on when walking those rocks. Sometimes you have just enough light to see where you're walking but the shadows can play tricks and make a rock look like it is where it ain't....

This post is making me LOL My buddie liked to go fishing with me all the time he always said if we dont catch anything something will always go wrong like a hook threw my fingers
falling on a rock or slipping off the rock into the water getting hit with a big wave parking my truck on the beach thinkng it was high tide and it was low what a suprise we had when we got back water right up to the door and he thought it was all funny.

After 20 yeares fishing with him iam glad he moved to N.Y.

BE SAFE OUT THERE

A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work

Rob,

I hope you are feeling better. Is it broken? bruised bad?, I hope this is not scaring you away from RI shores.

I know it was your Wifes birthday the next day, I hope you two had a good day despite your injuries! Did you get to go to Boston with her or did you stay home?

Thanks for the well wishes folks!

Dr. said I was lucky not to break it but it's BADly bruised and really swolen.

So, I'll be out of the game for a good week or so. However... I did by a new rod and reel today for my next trip to the rocks!

The old rod / reel was not damaged in the fall, just wanted a more stout outfit. So, I got a 9' Lami and a PENN 560 SLAMMER so I could put heavier line on it.

Hope to get out there soon!

Thanks again and Tight Lines,
Rob
