Post OLD MR Pearson [ A fisherman ]

There was an old man of the sea that lived close to the waters edge and i could tell that he knew everything about fishing, so i often watched him and asked him questions having a keen interest in anything fishing. As i got older he took a liking to me and often took me out in his boat to fish. This went on for several seasons until one day he said something strange in a very serious tone of voice i had never seen or heard before. "What i'm about to tell you is the absolute truth and i'm telling you so that you will carry this story- when i'm gone." with that said, he gave me a stone cold stare i'll never forget.
OLD Mr. Pearson went on to describe a typical day working on a fishing boat out of newbedford in the summer of 1938: "We had just set out to sea the previous night and had slept a bit til just before daybreak, where we were all up on deck waiting for some morning coffee and tellin fishing stories as it got light. Suddenly a man (their spotter)yelled and pointed out towards the SouthEast where we all saw two silver ships come down out of the sky at an angle side by side and race across the ocean JUST above the water sending rooster tails up a hundred feet high in the air. We watched them go from one side of the horizon to the other so fast that we all went into a silent shock temporarilly as we stared at the spectacle. Then we all got very afraid as the boat rocked from the huge waves on a smooth as glass sea."" an hour or so later we finally got back to fishin and everyone swore never to tell anyone of what we saw." [the end.] I never knew him to have "ever kidded me" about anything before, as he was as serious an old timer of a fisherman as they get. true story!
