I've never stayed at Champlins, but how bad can it be - your on BI! I do know they have a 3 night minimum in the summer. I will be out there with my family Aug. 1-4 for the Oyster Festival at the Spring House. Should be a blast. Let me know if thats the same weekend you'll be out there.

I've stayed there a couple of times, when fishing tournaments based out of Champlin's. They don't have slips, just three long docks and everyone rafts up against each other and the dock. Its either that or you stay on a mooring. The do have a water taxi that will take you from the dock to the mooring, but you can wait quite a while to get there. Either way its a hassel to get your boat out. Sorry, but I don't have any other alternative.

Mako,
Thanks for the info, the way they make it sound over the tel. you get your own slip ($60 per day), I don't want to be bothered with water taxis each time I want to head out fishing that would be a royal pain. I'll give them a call back just to confirm that.
Scotch,
I was thinking the same weekend as you or the weekend of the 15th....If I do make it out there maybe we can hook up and get some fishing in...

Don, let me know. We could be on the Ledge by 4:15am and back at the dock before the wives and kids wake up

Maco......I have stayed at Champlins a couple times on last minute trips...I thought they had a marina and hotel. The marina holds 225 boats. http://www.blockisland.com/champlins/marina.htm
(that does not mean you can get a slip though)
There is a lot to do for the kids in the pond and nearby.
Arial shot:

There is also a lot for the adults to do in the evening
And I have heard the fishing is fairly decent

They must have taken that ariel shot during the winter. Do you see any slips in that shot?
