VS300B New 475.00 shipped

John,
I don't know if this is allowed but I just picked up 2 band new VS300's for 475.00 ea. and thought it might be of interest to some members?

They said they purchased a lot of them and wanted to move them out? He quoted 500 ea and took 50 off because I purchased 2.

Great reel - still my favorite when I throw with the 11 foot stick. Big spool will give you lots of extra distance when needed. Slow retrieve is perfect for plugging and eeling. Jump on it.

It might mean "Black" not bailed. I'm not sure if they ever made the 300 bailed?

If they made a bailed VS300 and it was black the model number would be VSB300B. The B in the prefix designates bailed. The B in the suffix designates the color. So a silver bailed reel would be VSB300S.
But I believe as mentioned, they don't make a bailed 300 reel.

Van Staal doesn't offer a bailed version of the 275 or 300, both are bailless only. The 300 has a slower retrieve ratio 3.25/1 and the 275 has the 4.24/1 ratio.

I called them today and they will sell the 275 for $500. If I can get one more guy to buy one, they will do them for $475. Anyone interested let
Me know by tomorrow? No tax and shipping included,
$475 is a great deal....

Would the 300 make a good stand up tuna reel?

I ordered 2 of the 275's from these guys last week. The 275's have a higher gear ratio than the 300's and are great for for stand up tuna on spinning gear.
