Very encouraging sign

Fished Narr Bay this AM. Plenty of Pogies but absolutely no fish under them or in the usual haunts.

The good sign is I found huge schools of small bass, and I mean huge. Acre upon acre of 20 to 24" bass all breaking and feeding on something tiny. I couldn't touch a fish until I went to a Clouser dropper. Then it was gangbusters. Quit after I got tired of catching. Probably over 2 dozen. The amazing thing was I was the only one of this blitz.

No boat, back in the suds.

i will say the spring fishing has been outstanding so far, all my usual haunts are packed, already getting fish over 20lbs

middle of the day, 2pm topwater action is tough to beat

fish from 14" to 24lbs, lots of solid 32-36" fish, very healthy and fat and willing to eat anything

been seeing some of the biggest herring ive ever seen, 12-14" long and massive schools, lots of bait in the bay, silversides, squid and anchovies

hoping it last

We ran into to a 14lb last night amongst a steady pick of schoolies. Its been getting better, but geeze its late this year like everyone predicted with the tough winter. Im ready for those big fish!

Buzzards Bay has been loaded with schoolies the past few weeks. I was fishing NB inner harbor earlier today in the middle of hundreds of fish. Got em on the fly till I was too tired to continue. Good sign indeed.

Glad you guys aren't getting the skunkfest I am, 1st 3 trips no knock or visible bait other than the typical baby crabs which have been docile. Growing pains I guess for being a youngin'

Same here, although I had 2 short hits on a darter early this morning, and another one that took a swimmer started running and somehow missed the hook. 0-3

Does your incessant whining make you feel better? How about you just shut the hell up and suck it up? It's a fishing forum , so please just stop.

You guys have got to suffer. Cold, wind, rain then I get fish. Bluebird days (and nights), I get nothing.

No boat, back in the suds.

Agreed, Paul. All my best days so far have been in the midst of rain, wind, and cold. I'll take it though.

So if we go by Spaceballs logic, there is an upside and downside to the schwartz, so I have to be your downside? Get me Mel Brooks to remove this curse!
