MUSSLES

Just got back from a relatively short nite fishing.Started at 7pm in one of the more secluded spots I fish in Portsmouth on the Sakonett River and there were thousands of mussles floating in the water, many unopened. There was pretty heavy surf, for the river anyway, and the portion of shoreline I was fishing is all baseball sized stones so many of the mussles were getting crushed.Tons of shiners and mummies feeding on what was washing out.
Sometime around 8:15 or so loads of 12-20 inch bass went insane hitting anything in the water.Had a blast catching them,
but within 15 or so minutes it was totally over.Fished for another
1/2hr without even a follow.
Truly one of the more unique nites I've had fishing, glad I was able to see something like that.
Anybody else ever see something similar?
