My son and I went fishing this morning with Van and his son Jimmy on Capt. Roger Brousseau's boat Midnight Charter. The boys had each won a half day charter with Capt. Roger at the MSBA Banquet this past February. Well we had a ball. It was a beautiful morning, after the pea soup lifted, and Capt. Roger put us into some nice fish. My son Larry I am proud to say caught his first keeper today, and he could not have been any happier. Things started off a little slow, but we put on our "Frosty" caps, (the fishing equivalent of a rally cap....you had to be there) anyway we put on our "Frosty" caps and suddenly..."Fish On". Van and his son were kind enough to let Larry take the first fish and he reeled it in like a champ

Larry's first keeper ever (took lots of pictures) it was 30" long (30.5" if you ask my son) and he was happy because the picture will go on a wall that we have at home called "Big Fish Wall" (just a wall full of pictures of Big Fish and significant firsts, kind of my version of a wall of fame).

Van's son Jimmy hooked up next and boated another nice 30 incher (way to go Jimmy

). All together we caught about seven fish I think and five were keepers.

We just had a great time, my son was absolutely thrilled. Thanks Van and Jimmy for being great fishing partners and for being alot of fun. Thanks go to Capt. Roger also, a real class act and first rate charter. Hopefully Van is going to post a couple pictures soon, before he goes away on his fishing trip to upstate NY. Great kid you've got there Van, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Days like today go in the memory book, Thanks again.
