Pretty much makes up my mind to drop my Hyannis and Barnstable golf membership and go back to Atlantic in Plymouth next year, can’t even imagine how bad that traffic will become. Guppy you’re trapped now better get a second boat on a slip, I’m thinking Westport would be nice 😬

Wouldn't any logical organization build a new bridge first and then tear down the old?
At first glance I see empty space next to the Sagamore and far less disruption to commerce and tax revenue than no bridge.

I would assume that's what they would do. Lived next to the Sakonnet during the construction of the new bridge and it sucked.

My days on the Cape ended in 2003 when the fishing started to go downhill and the seals took over along with the Plovers. As for the Canal, it's been a Cluster #^&#^&#^&#^& for 6 or 7 years now and I wouldn't go near it.

I have had nostalgia and yearning for jigging the Bourne like the old days before the interwebs drove me away. Guess I better give it a last go one of these days. Cable stays are going to give it quite a different look.

Dangles gave me a second set of keys, already.
I will make sure that we figure out the Westport thing before I have to pry the keys out of your cold, dead hands, Mr. Heston.
PS-you are way more of a bad-ass than a Hollywood actor like Charlie Heston.

I know that, I’d already decided I’d had enough of the usual cape traffic and there are so many members getting tee times or anything resembling reasonable play is impossible.

On Cape, it chokes down to a 2 lane road no matter which bridge they choose, and even Rte 25 off-Cape is 3 lanes, if the Bourne were designated for off-Cape bridge. So you have bottleneck potential regardless. There's no feasible way to widen either Rte 6 or Rte 28, on Cape. Can you imagine what it would cost to glom onto all of those car dealerships on 28 under eminent domain?
