Been through the loss of my Dad, can't relate to the loss of a mother. Each stage has its own poignant lessons, though we often don't see their meaning at the time. Be strong my friend. Call me when you can, I need to plan some time in the surf.

My Grandmother passed away MothersDay last year.
She had been out having fun with her friends and they insisted she go to the hospital. - she never was one to lay around if she could help it. (Over the years she had a bunch of then experimental surgeries that are now standard practice which enabled her to continue her active lifestyle. - another note some time maybe)

My mom, the eldest, was called late in the evening to come up to the hospital cause they were not sure how long she would be around. - Well, with her history of always bouncing back better than before She was sure that would happen again.

Something told me this time was different. I cannot explain how I knew. I just did. I gave my mom a hug and from somewhere these words came.

The road ahead may be quite bumpy but it will smooth out
eventually. Hold on tight. We are all here for you if you need us.

I haven't thought about that night until today.
I hope you can find some solace in these words.
My heart goes out to you in this difficult time.
