Last week we had a man fall from his dingy while trying to get onto his bigger boat and drowned in the Taunton river no life jacket, I am sure he made that transfer 100 times . We had a sign before going on patrol In Iraq it said

Somerset drowning
The man that drowned in Somerset was a friend of mine for over 50 yrs. He was around boats all his life, I went to his wake yesterday. So sad and ironic that the sea that he loved so much took him to her bosom at his passing. I'm sure that he was laughing at those of us that were at the wake did so in a Noreaster ! flat seas and fair winds friend

missing boater
Thanks for the condolences guys. Terrible way to lose a fellow boater. I have been a scuba diver over 50 yrs, and I was also taught that complacency can kill. Attention to detail will keep one alive.
