sharks

In the seventies myself and some friends were going to the barge off Westport to spearfish. As we passed Horseneck beach the lifeguards were blowing whistles to get swimmers out of the water. We then saw a fin sticking out of the water! Of course we had to investigate, turns out it was a sunfish. I then pulled my boat along side it and jumped over the side and swam with it so the lifeguards would realize it was not a shark. I would think twice in this day and age and verify species better safe than sorry.

Won’t be long before we get sightings in Plymouth. Drove to Manomet point to have coffee and watched dozens of seals feeding on the huge bunker school that has been here all year. Once a great white finds them, there will be blood in the water.

There has been a rash of sharks nipping people in the water on the Long Island beaches lately. The consensus is either browns or sand tigers mistaking fingers and toes for fish. Apparently there are tons of sand tigers off their beaches.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.
