Pelosi says it's 'almost a false argument' that we have a spending problem

Here is a link:

Pelosi: 'False argument' to say Washington has spending problem | Fox News

I'm a numbers guy, let's look at the numbers.

In 2012, federal spending will be around $3.8 trillion. There are 300 million Americans. That means that the feds are spending $12,333 for every person living in the US, $49,333 for every family of 4.

Notably, that number ignores the estimated shortfalls to social security and medicare. The lowest estimate I have seen there is $40 trillion. That's another $133,333 for every American, or another $533,333 for a family of 4.

So, at current spending levels, and in order to pay for the Baby Boomers' social security and medicare...a family of 4 needs to give the feds $49,333 every year, as well as a one-time fee of $533,333. And that assumes we pay no interest, which we do.

And the former Speaker of the House, a woman who cannot lose in her home district, says it's not a valid argument to suugest that level of spending is 'a problem'. Maybe it's not a problem for her, because she is literally worth tens of millions of dollars.

This is why I say liberalism is a mental disorder. If you don't believe that current spending rises to the level of being called problematic, you are not a rational human being. You just aren't.

Spence? PaulS? Rockhound?

How do we begin to address this problem, if half the country doesn't believe the problem exists?

At some point during the golden years of the Baby Boobers, we are going to have a recession that makes 2008 look like the roaring 1920's.

A liberal Democrat, who continually approves of pork-filled bills from a state that's on the brink of bankruptcy because it spends too much, doesn't think Washington has a spending problem?

Whoa... if that isn't the shocker of the century.

No different than an alcoholic in jail for their 5th DUI telling everyone "I don't have a drinking problem."
