Bucktail etc supplies

Ok, who does everyone use to get supplies to tie bucktail hooks for their plugs.. I'm a big fan of bucktail on almost all my plugs and wondering where people get their stuff.... Looking for feathers etc.. as well as bucktail...

Any of the mail order fly shops carry that sort of stuff.
www.jannsnetcraft.com, www.flyfishusa.com, www.saltwaterflies.com. Orvis has a lot of stuff, but they are super expensive.

I like to stay away from buying bucktail by mail order. If you can find a place you can go to. I was only in RI once but I know I saw some tying stuff at Saltwater Edge.
Reason to stay away from mail order is I'm pretty picky with bucktail especially for saltwater. You gotta make sure the hairs are long enough and I like em as straight as I can find. Also don't like bucktail that's too brittle and flairs too much. Going through mail order you don't know what you're getting. Could end up with one thats all krnkly and has short hair. Just my opinion though.

I usually buy my yearly supply at the annual fishing show. You can realy compare the qualities and prices. If you can go on Sunday, you can buy them at a good discount prices.

Worth mentioning to your hunter friends.....

Once saw a guy taking a tail off a fresh roadkill in Jersey. Haven't done that yet but made me think about it when we were all looking at the prices last spring at the Fly Fishing show.

Dondkim, Slip and I found that the nice long bucktails get picked over pretty quickly, by Sunday there wouldn't be much quality long hairs left.
