VS offshore style

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ayphotohosting

Seem kind of dumb to anyone? This much for a huge spinning reel? From what I've seen spinning gets kind of stupid after 30# class.....

Thumbs down

That's one of the most ridiculous fishing devices ever made.

It's all wrong for offshore - imagine the right angle forces a big pelagic can impose on the line between the spool and the roller guide.

Stupid, just stupid. Might be worth something...as a curio only.

Yup.....i was about to say outright stupid also but didn't want angry critisism from an owner of one. Who would want this thing anyway?? Imagine 800# marlin pressure on that roller??!! Seems like the fish would pull it right out of the belt, or rip your torso out, whichever first.

things huge.....
check out from the VS site

"As part of this new program, Van Staal is suspending the sales of the VS400 Offshore Reel. This will provide us the opportunity to review potential design and performance enhancements for this innovative reel while giving us the ability to focus on the more standard reel sizes in the VS Series."

Lightbulb

I took a look at one a few years ago at a fishing show when it first came out. It looked just as stupid as then....

Save ya money and buy a real offshore reel - Accurate Platinum Twin Drag 50W/80W/120W. Now THAT's a reel!

Exclamation

Sure, but after you taste that those Accurate twin drags will do, you'll never look at a Penn Int'l again...

It doesn't look good for offshore. It should be a conventional reel. It should be used for...nothing?
