Get one of those stands that has a built in pivot.

It is tough getting a real tree to stand straight, all I can say is keep at it it will all be worth it in the end! Good luck!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

about the tree, it brings me back to my vivid childhood memories. i once had a parrot and it was a boring POS. All it did was lifting weight with its beak, eating seeds, and excreting. I got bored. I opened the cage and released it. And I took a whiftle bat and swung at the bird and chased it around my apartment in brighton and it flew around in the hallway and stood on the top of my xmas tree. and i swung at it twice and my little sister decided to join me in the "hunting expeditation." and my dad got pissed at me and he kicked my arse really hard. after a few minutes of time-out, i continued my hunting pursuit.

My family *NEVER* had a fake tree, ever. We use to go really crazy with 12-18' trees in the house. We would cut them down a day or two prior ro xmas and work like elfs to prep it. We *aways* wired it two ways into screws into the wall! (I would do this with ANY tree) and we have one of those killer cast iron stands that must weight 40# and can take a 8-10" tree. Many of the trees we had had to be tapered to fit in the stand.

I can't image not having a real tree. No matter what the size, if you never did you will really like it, it really makes the house feel like something special.

Below is a pic from a tree that wasn't the biggest but was pretty big 14-15' and cut live from a tree farm while I lived in ri. (the smell is amazing...the tree not RI )
