Rod Storage
How important is temp.? If I keep my rods in the garage, which is un heated, will that do anything to the blanks, or epoxy? I just dont want to be dragging them in and out of the basement , but maybe ok for the winter.

Bill,
I am no expert but I think that if they are postitioned straight up and not leaning on anything it shouldnt be a problem?
I know mine are in the unheated shed and nothing has happened to them the past couple of years.

I have always kept my better rods indoors. I have left cheapos on the boat all winter but feel the better rods are safer inside. I don't really know what extreme cold might do but I know mine are staying inside!

There are no problems either way. Just make sure they are out of sunlight after 3-4 mo. of storage with one side exposed to the sun it will fade the wrap in that area. Also make sure that there is no pressure on the tip.

Thanks Guys, I guess I will use a horizontal rack on rafters out of sunlight. No pressure on the tips.
