I think they do Saturday until noon but no Sundays - Jenn knows when they are open and she usually hits the site in the evenings...

Hey Chris...here you go...(508)-487-2100 That should be the one. But just in case this is the # to the provincelands visitors center 508-487-1256 They may not be able to tell you specifics there, but will send you in the right direction anyway. I think the # you had is for conditions and such.
I am pretty sure they sell seven days a week, or they used to anyway and the hours are I think 9:00- 3 or 4?? at least three anyway, but the may break for lunch so you might want to double check before you go.
I heard some rumors of fishies in the area so dont forget the gear!!! But save some for me! Hee, Hee, Hee!

hey no need because I already HAVE mine! only problem is the vehicle it is on is currently out of commission! I just HAD to take a drive on the beach when I got the permit....now I feel like I just teased myself and am dying to go again!
question for ya...I noticed on the map that they had from race point through high head open.....is this new do you know??? or has that always been and I just never realized it because it was closed every time we went??? Just around the bend after mission bell looks like it might be a nice spot...

At the air station go east pass over the main road and follow the trail . the first area you come too is good as there is a sandbar that goes for a few miles . Also be careful at leaving the beach high head its a little bit uneasing to some people going up over the dunes .
also remember there are closures and the area nearest high head isnt open till mid july

I believe they are open 7 days a week, 9-4. they opened up the beach all the way to High head last year, after the piping plovers were done nesting. I believe it's slated to open in late July this year.

see we have gone out onto High Head from that access point (yes a little hairy but doable if your careful) but access only went off to the right.....and you couldnt get to that point from Race Point....to drive straight through would be SWEET! ...or maybe not drive right htrough but make some stops along the way :P

There is a great map here with dates (approximate) when various sections are open: http://www.nps.gov/caco/activities/oversand/route.html
