Crips and I only ask people kick in on the gas money. Thanks I've got a handle on the holdovers, although I'd still love a shot at them southern holdovers.

Toby - is Al Anderson his dad?
Al Anderson is the one that wireline's umbrella rigs thru the holdover schoolies, right?
I just don't think an umbrella rig on wire in the tight confines of the Thames where the schoolies are packed in super tight is remotely challenging - granted it is fish.
I'm not anti - wire or trolling or jigging, whatever. But having fished that area a bit, if you are gonna wire line an umbrella rig in there, you might as well drag a net...

Capt. Al wasn't wire lining today, maybe the client wanted finesse and light tackle. I was cleaning their clock thou, man the marker bouy yellow 4" little jerk was hammered today, 30 fish by 10. I ended up with just over 60 fish, with 6 pushing 25 inches. Great day, too bad none of the sb boys could come play today. Merry Xmas to me. One of the guys got a 38 inch fish and last weekend the first fish I dropped was a 34-36 inch fish, so there are some nice ones in the river.
Blaine's a nice guy, had him in my boat only once, but he took some great footage of the Thames stripers last year. I'd not have the composure to stop fishing long enough when they are stacked that thick under the boat, but Blaine filmed for a long time without casting.

I'd have thrown it before Mike, but I heard there weren't any bluefish left in the river .

capt al tags several thousand fish per year, but gets very few returned tags. i always thought that the tagging procedure was not best suited for the fish in the river in winter. i think it puts too much stress on the fish. what he does always seemed like overkill to me.
