starting over?

did some fishing about 20+ years ago.then the big "D" came along moved to NH and haven't done much fishing since.used to live in Mass.fished LiL Rhody at Point Judith,and around the Charleston breech way.also fished Plum Island(the preserve side) any advice on gear to get back into it would helpful.Pro or Con

thanks for the come back! dug out my old tackle box,have 3 reels 2 will hold 200yds 1 holds 270 yds.of 20# test all need to be stripped and new line put on.a few assorted plugs 3 poles 2 9ft 1-10.5 ft.like to surf fish. back in 76 bought a cj-5 so i could drive on the beach(less walking) especially with rugrats(now grown) hope to take grandkids have 3

I see you are in Claremont. How far are you from the Merrimack? I have been hearing good things happening thattaway! I hope to get up to Plum and the Merrimack soon. Things on the North Shore starting to get better on the outside, but the rivers are still best bets from this week's reports.

for rods i have a 9' Garcia,9'Daiwa & 10'Ambassador,for reels i have a Olympic,Shimano and a Ryobi. All about 20+ years old and in excellent condition all open face.only have one freshwater rig an older Mitchell that was given to me. not big on freshwater tooo many skeeters and black flies especially this time of year
