Down here in rhody we start seeing macks in early April. The run hasn't been all that good the past few years, but you can still jig up a tote if you hit a school right.

I have an extra fridge after I remolded my kitchen. I plan to keep it in my basement this year. I want to keep the icebox full of bait, and the bottom full of beer. With my wifes permission of course. By the way.. any suggestions on how to convince her this is a good idea?

Eben your starting to know me. I put in huge effort collecting bait. I love collecting bait. It's one thing I haven't shaken from my boyhood days, digging clams, catching hellgrammites, crayfish, golden shiners, nightcrawlers..................................the y say that as we age we tend to go back to things that we did during our childhood years; well for me its getting bait.
Eben--I know where to get the macks. We'll go out and jig up a few. It's loads of fun. Good eating too--gotta get those Omega 3 fatty acids.

Saba time! I've only eaten mackeral in sushi form...Its not my favorite... Torro is my favorite, but I think I'd like it cooked better.
Anyway, I want to load up on squid and macks for the boat fishing I do down in stonington Ct.

Squid April and May. Squidding is addicting. But man, talk about being a walking zombie. For squid the 2 am bite is where it is at. Think pink.

Boston - South Shore got solid in the second week of May and they stayed through the second week in June. I would expect the same this year

Move all the food and groceries from upstairs in the kitchen down to the basement and the beer and bait upstairs and ask her if she likes it that way as much as you do...
