Prizes for the S-B TFCTF Nite - Part Deaux
OK - we already got a bunch of cools & schweet stuff for Saturday night and even more coming! Like last year, I'm thinking we have 2 pools for the raffle table(s).
Main Raffle, people buy the tickets and we'll do the speed raffle like last year, I'll slide an order of prizes up and someone will call name (anyone want to nominate a character (other than Chris L ) for pulling the tickets and yellin' out the numbers. Over the past year I've been given some fantastic custom lures to benefit the site (see - not all were given to me just for me to fish but I'm keeping all the BMs) from guys like Newell Guy, Tagger, Bernzy, Canalman and the list goes on and on. A LOT of people have pitched in and donated awesome stuff. We also have some stuff from sponsors like #^^^^^^^^^^^& and the God of plastics, GS, plus Bill & Jules (Fisherwoman & BC) will be bringing some teaser rigs - the list goes on and on. Several other members are bringing in lures and tackle, books, and more.
All of these - and there is a bunch (so buy lotsa tickets ) - will be placed on the main raffle.
The second raffle is for a couple other wicked pissa items and this raffle includes:
A really sweet print of the Graves Point Fishing Club of the late 1890s. This print of the digitally remastered phot from Newport before the turn of two centuries ago is awesome and I can't describe it other than three gentlemen anglers posing in front of a rack of bass starting at 35 pounds with six of them over 50 - helluva day fishing. This print was donated by Crafty Angler (who may be able to get there Saturday night) - it's sweet!
Next we have a couple rods be brought in by some regulars , Custom rods
Iron Mike is donating some rare Alou (remember the Alou Eel?) Jig & Plastics. These are new, still in the package and EXTREMELY hard to find this way.
MikeT from M&D's is donating a 1088 Custom Rod, but there is a catch - you must take one on one instruction from Mike on how to build it . So he'll provide the parts and some guidance but will give you a one on one session on how to build your own 9' surf rod with Mike supplying the parts.
I have been told to expect a few other high end items for the big raffle as well.
Next, we have 2 rods and 2 reels. Basic Patrick and Bobbike representing the MSBA have donated two reels to our nite out. MSBA and S-B have worked together for years. A lot of us are members of both. Many people joined MSBA as a result of this site. So MSBA is donating one Abu Garcia 7000HSN (HighSpeedNarrow) reel and one Abu Garcia 6500TCST Trophy Striper reel with the stipulation that I provide one custom rod for each of these reels so I'm finnishing up a 1089 Batson for the 7000 and have a 1088 on the way for the 6500. Pretty nice prizes!
Anyone remember what the raffle tickets went for last year??
Gonna be a lot of stuff coming for tomorrow nite!
(For those of you bringing prizes and those that gave me prizes earlier - please pm me as I want to get an organized list of all the people that pitched in and helped out - I have been anything but organized for the past few weeks 'cause of the new job - thanks!)

I'm bringing some jigs for the table and also a rod. I have a sabre 1089 that has a snowflake type closed butt wrap in black and gold. very nice but I'm not sure the epoxy is ready. If its not , I'll be bringing a 7 foot boat fluking rod. Its a nice rod but no fancy wrap. Its set up so a trim to the first guide (easy thing) would convert it to a taug rod.
Anyway , figure a rod and some jigs from me.
I also got to get together with Slip to nail down just what he wants for the prize for the biggest canal fish this past season.

Wanted to clarify it a little better.
The Rod will be your choice of a 1087, 1088 or 1089 in either spinning or conventional.
It will include all the items needed to build the rod including a 1 on 1 Rod Building class. To be held at my shop in Wareham.

I think $5.00 per raffle ticket is a bit high BP. We will all be there to support the site and many dollars will be spent on raffle tickets without a doubt, I just think $5.00 per is way out of line. $2.00 per would be a little more realistic, however I like the old 3 for 5 and 6 for 10. Just my .02 cents.

Hey...thats makes .04 cents! I do think people will spend more on tickets if they are done 3 for 5 and 6 for 10 than if they cost $5.00 each. I am planning on buying $30-40.00 worth myself.

I think we should keep it simple and do the raffle tix for 1 dollar each. If you want to do a discount for larger amounts, then maybe do 25 tix for 20 bucks.
