JF, I believe the Ben Doerr is being phased out of the line, some contract thing with BD,and they are phaseing in the Premier series. I f you can still get it ,the BD it is a excellent rod for the money.I use the BD ss86m2 for plugging and feel it's the best rod i've ever owned.IMHO that is. I can feel every movement of the plug, and get instant hook ups with fireline.I've seen and worked the Priemer in the shop,it feels great but too rich for my blood! Hope it helps.
