Question Anybody Hear Anything About The National Seashore Sticker Prices Increasing??

Someone told me that they went from $80.00 to $130.00 but they must be mistaken or have the particular beach confused because they were only $60-65 dollars at the Race last year. Just curious, Peter Murray, Pres. of MBBA told me the other night that he had not heard of any change as of yet and he should know as he is the Race Point liason for MBBA.

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I just called Cape Cod National Seashore and finally got an operator....the fees will be increasing from $65 to "about" $100.00 they said. Bummer but I will pay it!

Thanks Flaptail for input.

Those weasels!!! Why didn't they just wait till the 9th of April to announce it!!! It still won't stop me from buying one...but I guess that is what they are hoping will happen. Another $35.00 to protect those f-in plovers...what a bunch of CRAP!!! Did the recording have any reason for the increase?

I got a live operator C-5 CC, he did not give a reason and I just chalked it up to the fact that the last two years they have been selling so quick that they figured to make all that much more on stickers this year by boosting the cost. I will still be buyin' mine.

Good one Capesams! Race Point will still be a darn sight cheaper than Nauset and Duxbury beach! I think Nauset is, and correct me if I am wrong you Nauset guys, is it $160.00? Duxbury is $200.00 freakin dollars and for what???? I think there is about 3 miles of driveable beach in Duxbury!!!!! You can keep Duxbury as far as I am concerned.

It's all about the revenue, while it may seem like a sizeable jump, P-town is way behind, they have not gone up in years. They have some other issues with buggys there, that will be coming up, if not this year, than probably next.

Yes, Nauset is $160 for Non-resident, (CS, ixnay on the fortyay dollaray for usay ) and $230 for self-contained. Duxbury might be more than $200, can't remember for sure, but they made well over a million $ in revenue, so I guess money is not an issue for most.. Nauset took in about 3/4 million $ in oversand stickers, throw in the parking lot, and your well over a million $

Macojoe, I hear what your saying, but divide it by the # of times you go... can you do something you enjoy as much for less money? I know, ya got a boat, to hell with drivin' on the sand

I know someone who buys the self contained, and uses their camper ONE weekend of the season on Nauset. Their logic, it would cost $230 for a high end room for one night in high season, by hitting the beach, the get 72 hours, right on the waters edge, can fish, swim, eat, and never have to leave the beach!

As stated earlier in thread, I did talk to a live person at the National Seashore and they confirmed over-sand permits are going to cost "about $100.00"....that is a quote.

I cut and pasted what I see.... way I read it, it's $110 for a self-contained (camper), $65 for a jeep/SUV/pick-em-up. I do think this is last years info, tho...

Larry, I am sure that's what you were told, I have heard that a fee increase is going to happen.

SPECIAL USE PERMITS

Off-Road Vehicle

Fees
$40 - 7 Days
$65 - 7 Months
$110 - 7 Months

Details
Off-road vehicle permits are available for use on Cape Cod National Seashore's off-road driving corridor. A weekly, seven-day permit is available for $40. An annual permit for mid-April through mid-November is available for $65. Self-contained recreational vehicles may obtain a permit for mid-April through mid-November that allows for overnight stays for $110. Permits are issued 7 days a week, including holidays, from 9 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., from April 10th through November 15th, at the Oversand Station at Race Point Beach in Provincetown. A maximum of 3200 annual permits, and 200 active weekly permits are available each year. Permits are not issued to rental vehicles.

When I was waitting in line last year the ranger said he didn't no how much but that the stickers will be going up!!

I agree that as far as things goes $100 is not so much. But I don't use it alot, and I am not a rich guy!! And I already spend a ton of cash for all the other things I have to get.

Just thought i would get at least 1 more season before they go to the lottery system!! Thats going to be next!

Here's what you do guys. You buy the weekly sticker and after your week is up take some nail polish remover, put a little on the cloth and wipe the date off. Take a sharpie and put an new week in there.

But remember, dont right the date you get there write the date in your leaving.

Last year at 65 bucks ,I figure that sticker cost me about 75 cents per outing. What kills me are the folks that get a yearly ticket and they only need a weekly. I spent a LOT of time on that beach last year and did not see anyone that I stood in line with.
