Ever catch a tagged bass?
I caught 3 of them in the canal
1 from Little Neck Bay New York 29 inches
1 from Virginia 43 inches
1 from Maryland 42 inches
I got a hat, a certificate and a thank you letter when I sent the tags in.

I caught one in the N River a few years ago, I thought I was going to win something good, since the pink tag said reward with a phone number. I was thinking, boat motor trailer, some sweet rod/reel combo, maybe money. None of the above just a hat, and some info on the fish.

Caught one last season with Clammer off the 'gansett rocks. Poor schoolie had the tag seemingly coming out of its vent, I didn't have the heart to take it out.

From 1985 until 1994, my Dad tagged hundreds of bass in RI.
He has had 6 tags returned.
I was visiting my parents in Florida this January and he received a letter from the Littoral Socitey with another returned tag. The fish was tagged over 11 years ago at Pt Judith and the return was from New York. Unfortunately, the person who returned the tag did not send measurements so we could not see how big the fish had grown.
My Dad also once caught a Federal tagged bass and returned the tag, I guess thats a big deal, I think he got a hat or something for it.

The hats are pretty cool. (Quality foam domes). For the last few years I've caught a tagged bass or two a season on the north side of the Vineyard during the spring run. Fish have been from Deleware Bay or Hudson area.
