some people i bumped into at a herring run in wareham said that some people already caught some stripers in one of the rivers that feed out into the ocean...

Don't know the season for Rocks in VA or MD, but the York James and Patomac should be a couple of good rivers leading to the ocean right about now.....

Notaro, the catch and release season on the Susky Flats is in progress right now. You are about 20 miles away from 40 LB> stripers busting bait in 3 feet of water. You can probably get a bus to one of the many parks in this area.

Last week I think I hit fresh stripers inside the Thames that had come in with the herring, so it doesn't surprise me.

Herring

I was down to Gilbert Stuart last weekend and didn't see any herring at all. Although I must say I have seen an Egrit (sp?) standing amongst the sea gulls, and they don't come to town until the buffet is open.

I'm going to give the Narrow a whirl this Saturday. I am going for what I call a "fish orgy"...opening day trout in the morning, pike fishing in the afternoon, and stiper fishing at dusk.

The actual definition of a fish orgy is three different fish in three different water types. The best part about a fish orgy is it usually requires a case of beer for the day and a comfortable pillow on the couch when I get home to the fiance.

Be sure to let us know if you see/catch any stripers.. guys like me are standing by with a rod and pole... may do some trout fishing fri nite/sat morning, weather permitting.. and will probably try a little striper fishing to see if anything takes the bait...

bump, I wonder where they will show first this year?

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

I wouldn't be surprised-holdovers gotta eat too. They probly came out with the tide to eat some stripey snacks. U know they have the stir crazies being cooped up all winter-just like you and me

Is it good, or is it Sofa King good?

i actually don't mind the slow start to spring, keeps the fish closer to shore longer. looks like this spring will be repeat of last, but thats fine with me. the fish always seem to show up the same time no matter what the conditions.
