HELP !!! Bob Hahn Research Thread ..
I'd like to know more about Bob Hahn .. I've borrowed this plug to knockoff .. Its an Original Bob Hahn . If it didn't have a name I'd call this one warrior .. I've been told this was his best producer .. I love this plug and will return it after attempting to get a perfect copy ..

The lip appears to be a #4 colorado blade ..I'm guessing he wasn't a big fan of blue fish .. There is no tail hook.. not broke ,it was made that way .. just a nice teaser tail .. As you can tell this plug has been around .. I believe its worthy of its own thread .. Bob Hahn sharpies .. pleeeez help .

Tagger, did you do a search?
I posted a thread a while back looking for information about Bob Hahn and many responded. In particular was Steve F. from Philly. Steve F./SFrances fame. I believe he was aquainted with him personally. Do the search I think you will find it! I got what is supposed to be an original Bob Hahn on e-bay a couple months ago (not sure if it really is) if you want to come by and take a look at it let me know, I am right in Abington.

Ya Bifish if ,the lure you got was on e-bay in a slim plastic package with a tan Hahn Lures paper stapled on the top of the plastic a couple of months ago,i believe it was an original Hahn. What was the final bid?

No Justplugit, that must have been a different one....mine was purchased about two months ago. It is kind of a green Danny style swimmer, not in original packaging so I really have no documentation with it. However, the eyes on mine are the same as the ones on the plug Tagger has pictured. Mine cost me.....$15.00 I think it was? Which I think was pretty cheap.

This plug got some wicked vibes coming off it .. the curves are kicking .. I hope the knockoff has the same mojo .. I'm doing it up the same as orig in honor of Bob Hahn .. I have to get some #4 colorado's nickel over brass.. I need a 1/4" brad point .. His eyes look like they were done with a jacknife or do you think someone added the eyes ? I like how the eyes are down lower than the lip .

Tagger i made some knock offs last year
If You want the action of that lure Your using the wrong wood.
You need Red not ayc.
I use to toss these up along the islands outa my GW and from shore.
the z lips are a better producer
the pike lip from NJ whats it #2 will do just fine.

I got your knockoff in swap .. Newellys swims great .. I got red cedar ...weighs nothing .. I thought this was is so chewed up it looks like white cedar or even white pine .. I've heard Bob Hahns plugs were the best swimmers ever made but not consistent .. not my opion .. just what people are telling me .. was he consistent with the type wood he used .. and don't talk about it show me a pic .. your Bob Hahn stash ... yea .. you don't have any Bob Hahns really .. do ya...

CS, if this trade between the Tadpole and Hahn should ever really take place, you would be the only one tough enough to assemble the negotiaing team, armed guards and armored guard trucks needed

My target weight is 1.3 ounces.. with wood and 2/0 hooks (don't have 1/0 yet ) I'm at 1.1 ounces. add wire, lip ,finish ,swap 2/0 with 1/0 I think I'm going to nail this thing .. PMer who knew him very well and is holding 120 plugs told me he used white pine for all his stuff..

He was not really consistant in the wood he used or the Patterns they would vary all the time.He would use birch maple white pine an cedar. For the most part the paint would blow up as soon as they hit the water but that didn't matter to me the fish still liked them I did pretty good on a big Pikie he used to make I woke up the hole town of Monmouth Beach one night when I lost one on a good fish.(to lazy to retie)BM is right use a Z lip from njt. use one belly hook an make it out of red cedar Use a shot of lead just back of center an U will really have somethin.Big Don does a good job on followin in BOBs footprints. His needles where for Jersey fish when we had sandeels. His bottle plugs where the best.

I made two copies and the envirotex is drying right now. One has a longer and shallower bevel on top-I had to experiment with the angles on my chop saw (no belt sander)-neither is weighted because I wanted to see how they swim without-and can add weights later if needed. I plan on swimming them this weekend-what is the action of an original Bob Hahn swimmer comparable to? Pikie or danny or p40?
thanx
