Tide Watch

Can anyone recommend a wrist watch that predicts tides? I just bought a "Frestyle Outsider" and it sucks. Great if you want to know the tide in Botaga Columbia - or Maui - but the program mode sucks. It couldnt even predict the tide accruately 1 day out.

So... anybody have a tide watch that they like? Thanks in advance.

i got two.
the one on the left is a casio,tell tide all over the world, moon faze too. even puts little fish up if it's a productive time to fish."ohh look it's a three fishy day" time to go fishing.

the other ones a freestyle, pretty much only good for that days tides.

I have a Kreiger watch that I really love. It's a bit pricey but I'll probably have it for the rest of my life. It has tide and moon phase and it's a swiss watch, no electronics. Once you get it setup for your area, it is very accurate.

Have two Casio digital tide watches. One of the G-Shock models and the other is one new Sea Pathfinders. Both work great and let you scroll out as far as you want to see tides on future dates. Also let you keep up to 10 different tides stored. Great for keeping track of the tides on the canal, the south and outter beaches. Also give you the moon phases. G-shock is kind of bulky, but the new pathfinder is nice and thin...

Thanks guys - this is exactly the kind of info I needed. Sounds like casio has a few different options. I'll probably go with a casio.

If you know the moon phase, you know the tide with all the accuracy you'll ever need at 90% of the places we fish

Full/new moon, high tide in CC or Mass Bay, or the backside, around midnight. Between 8:10 and 8:40 in Buzzards Bay.

Add roughly 40 minutes with each day from new/full. Or subtract if you're working backwards a few days from new/full.

Learn local variations for whatever estuary you fish and you're about set.

My calander at work has the moon phases. I know everytime it's full(or new) high water is between 8-9 at moriches to shinnecock inlets. from there I know the Shinnecock canal will close it's locks approx 2.5 hrs before high and the NorthShore of the island between PortJeff to Mattituck will work out about 4hrs from the South side high water.
Actual high slack varies of course with wind and current conditions. Once you've got that nailed down in yer head you will know the tides fairly well by either looking at the moon phase on yer calander or simply remembering the last full or new. Best part is...It will ALWAYS be the same year after year!
