The WEATHER MAN SUCKS

I have to tell you they have been WAY THE HECK OFF the past few days. I think it must be possible to do a little better guys...

on sun it was for rain to heavy rain t-storms...it was 80 and sunny by me and not a cloud in the skys all day till 10:00, then a lite rain and it stopped in 10 min. These guys are a waste of time almost.

Even today...It is SUNNY and nice by me. they tell me it is raining all day?

I heard on the news that this year we have a 75% chance of a getting hit with a hurricane. They can't predict the weather today...how can they predict the weather 3 months from now?
Must be the same people at the weather station as there are at the ASMFC predicting how many SB we caught

I am with you Mr. Sandman....they do a horrible job! I was watching Chickage Windler on channel 7 Sunday morning, as I was going to the Sox game that day.....she mentioned every spectrum in the weather world for a forecast for that day "EXCEPT" sun and that was what we got! They sure do like to cover all of the bases though just in case they are somewhat off, they will never be totally incorrect! Nice work if you can get it!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I went out on my boat Sat. am, got the 5.00am NOAA update before heading out. fore cast called for winds 5-10 kt out of the NE and seas 1 ft or less.
Got out past Boston Light and there were 6 ftrs coming from the east
Had the vhf on the boat on a weather station and they were saying the same forecast at 11.00 am and 12.00 noon
Been the same story for a month

I here ya Sandy.

After living out here for a bit you start tp see trends. What happens when, etc.

We never got those thundy storms (rarely ever do) but as you know the fog is a way of life and many mornings are foggy and then it starts to burn off but everytime the heat low forms on land and begins to rise the wind fills in and blows the fog back over the land. So a forecast of early am fog burning off DOESN'T always pan out.

just one example.

I actually don't care if it is sunny or foggy. It's all good to me.

It might sound crazy but I use the channel 10 website (www.turnto10.com) marine forecast tool and it seems to be fairly accurate although their predicted forecast usually would be conditions after 10:00am when the winds kick up. When I get to the boat I turn on the noaa stations.

My God, is Art Lake still on Channel 10?

Guy has to be almost 90--he's been on there since I was a kid.

Scott thanks. I didn't realize that data was buried in the NOAA website. I'm definately going to use that as well.

Thanks again.

Fish On, no problem. Even though NOAA typically blows their marine forecasts, their website does have a lot of useful/interesting info.
