Commercial Fishing in Massachusetts

Does anyone know the laws regulating commercial striped bass fishermen in Massachusetts? What is the minimum size? How many can each fisherman take in a day?

Thanks,
Herringless

RE:Commercial Fishing in Massachusetts

You need a commercial license and a separate striped bass permit. The season opens the first Monday in July and for practical purposes, ends when the quota is reached, usually in late August. During the open season, fishing is allowed on Monday-Thursday, and closed Friday-Sunday. The minimum length for a "commercial keeper" is 34". There's a 40 fish per boat daily bag--not sure what the bag limit is for a guy on shore.
