Logic 186 Cool Bay

Anyone check out the boat review in Saltwater Sportsman this past month. It also goes by the name of a triumph 190. Logic was bought out a couple years ago or something.

I just wondered if anyone owned or looked at or has fished out of one of these boats.

Its an 18.5 footer that seems like it would be a very versatile boat that could handle most inshore fishing, some shallower stuff, and isn't too big for freshwater use. I'm in the market for saltwater rig sometime in the next two years and I was diggin' this boat.

There's a dealer down in Wareham... may have to take a trip down there to check 'em out this winter.

Tight lines.

The Logic is made in NC and seemed to be a pretty nice boat, I had looked at the 18' model over in Tiverton, RI and although it looked like it could handle some rough water and was layed out nice the sticking point was the price. The dealer wanted alot of cash for the boat with a 2-stroke motor, I wanted a 4-stroke and that would have pushed the price of the boat out the window. Shop around before you buy. I looked at SeaSwirls, Logic, Trophy, Edgewater, Maritime, and Mckee before I settled on my boat.......

I'm not familiar with the boat, but if the Wareham dealer you refer to is the one Slipknot and I have experience with, your in for a screwing one way or the other. I'd buy there, like my friend just did, ONLY if the price was just TOO GOOD to pass up. I would NOT EVER under any circumstances go back to them for service. I'd recommend the Lund I have for a mixed use boat, but shop at Tropicland and do yourself a favor. If you want to spend the big bucks, the newer Ranger saltwater boats are sweet and I just read a good review on them in some publication.

This guy in wareham sounds like a real winner. There were a few other dealerships in mass so I could check those out... I would even drive down there to NC and pick it up and throw in a weeks vacation if I had too.

Slip, I'll email you.

GS, I'd definitely like to check your boat out again before I buy... maybe, ahem, sometime this fall when the blues and bass are turnin' the harbor into whitewater... if that happens. I'm stopping just short of inviting myself here.

There are definitely some other boats I want to check out and price. Lund, pro-line, seacraft and key largo all have models I like. 179's 18.5' pro-sport sounds like a very similar boat that I should look at. But I won't be buyin' till next year or even the year after. If I wait the extra year, I can probably avoid any financing.

That's funny about the price on the logic, 'cause the article touts the price as a benefit. I guess the dealers are the big player in that game.

Note to self... wareham guy sucks! Thanks guys.

I agree with all those who would not deal with the Wareham RT 28 Dealership.
I purchased a boat 2 years ago and they still have not fixed major problems with the boat.
Like they say word of mouth is the best advertising.

Schoolie,
Like I said i shopped around for 6 weeks before I bought the Pro-Sport. One thing you want to do if you are going with an outboard is take a serious look at the 4-strokes, the Suzuki & Honda's are the top two. I get incredible fuel mileage with mine. They are worth the extra money. The other bennefit is no exhaust fumes.

I had narrowed my selection down to the SeaSwirl and the Pro-Sport when I bought! They were the best bang for the dollar out there.

Good point 179, I wish mine had a four stroke, but when you buy used...you take what you get. If and when my 150 get's old or I feel like spending the money, I would go for a four stroke.

Yamaha now has a 225 horse 4 stroke EFI. Only wieghs a few pounds more than the 2 stroker (pretty amazing). I was reading an article and the engineering was pretty smart... Pricey though - but all of your outboards will be 4 strokers within the next decade...
