Angry Unfreakin-believable...Watch Out While Yer Fishing

FBI warns of possible deadly floating material
From Kathleen Koch
CNN Washington Bureau
Sunday, June 27, 2004 Posted: 5:32 PM EDT (2132 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The FBI issued a warning last week for state and local authorities to be on the lookout for booby-trapped floating material in and around the nation's marinas, warning they could contain explosives.

A homeland security official told CNN on Sunday there is "no intelligence terrorists are planning to or want to do this."

The official said the warning was sent in a weekly bulletin to 18,000 state and local agencies, a lightly classified alert that outlines possible tactics terrorists could use.

The bulletin says plastic-foam containers, inner tubes and even buoys could be rigged to blow up on contact.

Currently, the national terrorism alert level is "yellow," or "elevated."

On May 28, the Department of Homeland Security and the Justice Department issued a joint issued a joint statement citing "credible intelligence" of a threat to the nation.

"Credible intelligence from multiple sources indicates that al Qaeda plans to attempt an attack on the United States during" the period leading up to the November elections, according to the statement by Attorney General John Ashcroft and Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge.

You never know with those wack job muslim extremists. It sounds silly thats for sure but i wouldnt put it past them. Cant blame the goverment for issuing the warning, just gotta tell everyone and watch out just in case. Otherwise John Kerry will say Bush didnt warn us about terrorists using bouys as bombs! Ya cant win with the Lefties!

Guess I won't be picking up any more lobster pot buoys on the beach for my fence, huh

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.
