Congratulations, and welcome to the winning side B.F..Now you can bask in the sunshinef of a glorious history. Think of all the highlights you can enjoy now: Bucky Dent, Aaron Boone, 26 World Series flags, a perfect game, Reggie's three homers,etc. How many times can a guy watch Fisk hit a homerun that didn't even decide a series? Five seconds of glory...play,rewind..play,rewind. Plus no more worrying about a Curse (that doesn't exist).

There is nothing left to complain about now that I am a full-fledged Yankee fan!  I just took my autographed Bucky Dent picture out of the moth balls I was hiding it in to hide my dirty little secret......  that deep down, I want to be a fan of a World Championship baseball team before I die...... and if I have to sell my soul to become a Yankee fan in order to taste the fruits which have been forbidden to Sox fans for so long......then....so be it!  Wow! This feels so much better than I could have dreamed 28.......26 World Championship flags.....wow....  look at them all up there....like pretty little duckies all in a row! Now I can speak freely and openly about how exhilarating it was when Reggie (I prefer to call him Mr. October) smashed those three homeruns, on three consecutive at-bats, off of three different pitchers  in the 1977 World Series......wow! that was awesome to see and now I can discuss it openly! Life is good....heck, life is great....I love the Yankees...and they....love...me!

BF- you'll be sorry. But I bet it did feel good to say all that nice stuff about the Yanks. One time, I said Yaz was a pretty good player. It felt nice. I guess you're going to break out the Fisk tape again? You'll be back with us ten games into Stump's regime.

28....make no mistake, I have "zero" faith in the Red Sox! They will never pull it together....not in my lifetime, and with Gods help and a little luck, I got at least another 40 good years left! They just suck!  However, I could never be a Yankee fan (as nice as that must be) my roots are with the Sox......I will just have to continue the long, painful, frustrating wait until we strike gold!
That Reggie Jackson game however was one of the most amazing performances I have ever seen in baseball by an individual!!! I remember vividly watching that game on the tube and being absolutely in awe!!! |

Just remember...It was a long painful trip w/ the Patriots for many years also, they were a joke in the NFL for MANY MANY years......But it sure has felt good the past few seasons.
And if that felt good just imagine how good it will feel when the Sox finally pull there Chit together.

No comparison there TDF.....we had to wait only since 1960 I believe for the Pats to get it together.....we have been waiting since, need I say it, 1918 for the Sox to win a Championship! |

I think Nettles was one of the best defensive third baseman to ever play. Pretty steady bat too! |

Let me tell ya something....I grow tired year in and year out of you whiney Red Sox fans simply being happy with the possibility of securing the wildcard spot in the AL! It just always seems to be good enough for Boston fans, and you never seem to want to push for the division win!!! Damn it folks, demand more, expect more.....for cryin' out loud, I am not just talkin' when we are 10 games out you look towards the wildcard, earlier in the season when we are a mere 3 games behind....many are taking solice that the Sox are leading in their bid for the wildcard spot!!!! They lay down their arms and damn it, they are happy just with winning the wildcard!!!! That is the long and short of the Boston Red Sox mentality not just from the fans but from the Sox management also!!!!!  You never hear the Yankees cryin' "ohhhh, we are only a couple games out in the division but hey......we can win the wildcard spot!!!! Are you kidding....the Yankees do not think that way and neither should Boston fans.  |

btw- i think the wildcard system sucks! 2 divisions- 7 teams each- east/ west , let division winners play for pennant.

Schilling is not entitled to stumble "once in awhile"???? The guy has been a rock all season and a team player! There are two guys on this team who in my opinion should be exempt from the ridicule that the rest of the team has earned and deserves and those two players are Schilling and David Ortiz!!!! |

Ok I just read this thread so here goes.
As you all know I am and have been a Yankee fan my entire life ( thank God for his blessing ). I suffered as a kid when they really sucked and the Red Sox were a good team. I have enjoyed the last few years with the Yankees being so good, The Red Sox ( up to this year ) have been very good as well. If the Red Sox ever make it to the WS I WILL root for them, they are from my league, division after all and I would rather see them win than a team from the national league plain and simple. Do I like the Red Sox? NO Do I hate the Red Sox? NO Some day they will win a WS IF they and all of there fans get over this stupid idea of a curse, They are cursed because they think they are, get over it play ball, stop letting the inmates run the asylum and play ball. Make Pedro buy a glove that is not pink and play ball. Make Manny run and PLAY BALL. Make Damon shave his head and face and PLAY BALL. but most of all PLAY BALL. That is what they are being paid to do.
As a side note some of you know I took my father to the WS last year at Yankee stadium ( life long dream to do that with him, finally came true ). WHEN the Sox get to a WS GO GO GO, don't think about the cost. For me to do that was worth every penny and I will do it again if I ever get a chance to again.
