Bad Back

I had to leave fish and nice fish every drift because I couldn't stand the pain, that's how my morning went. After about an hour of standing and rocking, I was in agony and started to head in, then I thought, well with this easterly and tide a certain ledge is on my way in. Well every drift over the end put a couple fish on the end of my line. Sadly I had to sit to drift and getting up to fight the fish was killing me. Even the fishing couldn't keep me there for more than a dozen of nice fish, really S**KS.

Funny thing is, I don't recall really doing anything severe to warrant what I feel. It's also not my lower back, which always has been my problem, it's right in the middle of my back. I hoping it's just a pulled muscle or two or three and not something more serious due to my pounding around in my tin boat. I come down hard at times and I'm hoping I didn't screw my back bad pushing the limits.

I'm self medicating right now, and plan to pound a few more down to get some zzz's and hope things are better tomorrow.

A lot of back pain comes from stress.

muscles tense up and until you really relax - not just sleeping either - you will have little relief.

Try and work out whatever is stressin you that may help.

Hope its not serious Bob.

I know from experience back pain is the worst.

Get better....

BTW.
My wife has had cronic mid back pain and just started acupuncture. I was real skeptical, so was she being an RN and in the health profession for many years. BUT,,,,she is so much better after 3 visits, its unbelievable. I've never tried it but she is testimony that it does work. and they say its not temporary, it FIXES the problem.

I suggest a chiropractor. I use to think they were quaks until I saw the immense changes to my nephew. You wouldn't think it was the same kid. I use to call him grumpy baby and now he smiles so much I can't stand it.

I started seeing a chiropractor last July and I feel so much better. Subluxation is a slow degenerative thing that you never see it coming. You can sometimes heal certain injuries depending on your age. The older you are all you can expect is you can't get worse and at least hault it. The youner kids need less treatment and can rebound real fast. I was 40 yrs old and had a 15 yr old roll over accident so I went a long time before I started seeing treatment. I hardly ever take advil any more - I use to pop several a day. I have full range of neck movement, stand straigher and so forth.

I was going for treatment 3X a week and am currently at almost 2X a week (hard due to vacation and things). Eventually I hope to just go once a month.....lol.

If you want a name to a local doctor, pm me.

mother-in law went to chiropracter.
first it was once ever 2 weeks.

convinced sister-inlaw to go for her backpain.
then every week

then twice a week.

they were worse off the more they went.

they stopped going.
worked out the what was really causing the issue
stress, seating posture, bad shoes, auto seat.
inactivity.

after a few weeks things improved.
and have not been back since

(this was 3-5 years ago)

Lightbulb try

the thermal care heat wraps from cvs and other places too
as they offer much relief over the whole day.

we bought a massage table at bj's....what a great purchase!
this tool allows your loving spouse to help heal you by providing the proper height to get you relaxed for the perfect massage.
worked for me and i was wrecked!!!
taking more vitamin E helps too. and try switching pain killers. advil=ibuprofen .... alieve =naproxin ..... excedrin = acetamyaphin (sp)
theres a company making a repair your liver drug for over taking acetamyaphin... so thats not a great choice.

98% of my back pain is gone since we bought a tempurpedic mattress!!!!!!!!! and hubby too! the other 2% is usually self inflicted from heavy lifting I woke up every morning with a back ache. (and about three times during the nite)

dont know if this could be part of the problem for you or not but dont dismiss it like I did. Our mattress was not a no name or cheapo, or too old. brand name and only a few years old...so I could never believe that was the real problem!!!!

re:mattress

I will have to agree with mattresses being an issue. We replaced our mattress and then proceeded to change it three times until the new back aches we both started to get went away.

Any aches Since the new mattress, however, have been due to stress or over extension.

Unhappy

Can you guys say "spinal stenosis", that's a narrowing of the spinal column. Thats where the nervs are. This narrowing causes inflamation of the nervs. Hurts like hell!!! I have had several treatments of injections into the spinal column, they helped imensely. In my case, this is all caused by vertabrate riddeled with authritis. The Dr hasen't been able to do much with the pain in the lower, right for me, part where the nerves go down to different parts of the leg. Had one nerve block with moderate sucess. I have become an unwilling expert in crappy chairs, 10 seconds and I can tell if it is any good for me. I can't quite convince myself to go to the knife, but I know eventually that's gonna be the only way. So like everyone else, I do the best I can one day at a time.

The up side is, when a few of us go out on the beach, I always get to ride in the front in relative comfort.

WHICH chiro you got to makes ALL the difference in the world! Not everyone was trained the same and not every one is out to screw you.

If you need the name of one who breaks the mold and gets result, pm me.

I was a skeptic for most of my life until I SAW the changes it made to people lives. My nephew was a punk and destine to become a statistic in the papers because of his poor attitude. He is another person now - he smiles, he has gotten into acting and he is a happy teen. His younger brother had the same results as well.

My Dad & aunt started going - I saw slow and steady results in them as well. I began going 3 X's a week and am now just going once a week (wish it were 2X a week...lol). The guy I use has a maintenance plan that is VERY affordable. I can go once a week, or 3X a week - same price!

I could type forever about this. Have an open mind. It can save your life !
