aquidneck or north shore

i have a 'dentist appointment' so i will be out of the office tomorrow...so the BIG question is where to fish...do i head to newport for consistently good early morning fishing or chance it up here in the north shore to hopefully catch a fall blitz...any reports from rhode island will be much appreciated! or the north shore for that matter...oooh my tooth really hurts!

What Clamma said....

If you're closer to the North Shore, save the gas instead of driving to Newport

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

I wouldn't rule out Newport, there are some stripers around.

A few friends of mine went out Monday evening from shore around 7PM and had a 40 (eventually weighed in at 40.2lbs) and a fish over 30 on the shore within 30 minutes.

A bunch of other fish over 20 as well before the tide turned and the action slowed.

Of course we went and tried to repeat that performance the following night and nothing but a few schoolies were caught...

But they're out there.
