Yeah, Flap, I've got a blurple crackleback Howdy that seemed to work just fine yesterday around 5:30 in the AM

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Where did you get the rod holders that are on the front of the Blazer? Home-made?

Yep, home made, but the mounting plate was from the Surfcaster catalog. Well, got to go get ready, meeting my friend George at the dock at 6:30. Ganna take his Regulator down along the islands again today. Cuttyhunk here I come. Film at 11!!!!

Slip, that yellow Howdy is the best fish catcher along the islands in years. I had five fish yesterday that went from gunnel to gunnel on my skiff, I only took the pics later when the fishing died down. For two and a half hours on the east tide at Pasque it was a fish or a miss on every cast. I was in my skiff. 30 mile round trip out of Green Pond, fish were right in the rocks. Got one Albie and a couple large blues as well. It's been red hot now for four days straight.

Wink

Did you see a 21 foot Regulator with a guy and his golden retriever in it? I was right in tight by Henry Franks rock. I was talking to him around 12:30 pm. My skiff is camo light khaki color and and 14 feet long. If I am in tight you cannot see me at 200 yards. Or did you see a guy in a 21 foot Parker with a bunch of people flyrodding on it. That was Curt Jesup From the Orvis shop in Mashpee. He came by just as I was landing a large one. He and I chatted for a few minutes there. What were you in? I just got in from there. Went all the way to Cuttyhunk today. Albies were good bass wewre soso today. Nothing like yesterday.
