Mass Plates "GEC"
Anyone know who owns a full size SUV (Surburban like vehicle) with Mass Plates "GEC". He was heading off Cape on Route 6 Saturday morning when a fish tote must have blown out of his front cooler rack , went over his vehicle and almost caused an accident. I was behind him and was able to avoid it. Lesson Learned - make sure anything in your cooler rack is tied down - especially if your going to speed on one of the deadliest roads in Mass!

That truck belongs to a P'Town old guardsman whose name I won't post here for privacy reasons, but he's quite famous on the beach. He used to make plugs and sell them out of his buggy at Race Point. I'm not sure how old he is but he has to be up there.

George Calzone is an old friend who I fished with many times. You can leave a message at Nelsons in P-Town and Mike knows how to get hold of him. George lives in Springfield MA.
Back a few years ago there was an article in OTW about George and the tourists were coming into Nelsons and having George sign it. He was tickled pink.
Boy, the stories he could tell. He caught a 61# bass on Nov 1, 1961. He didn't think the fish was that big so he buried it and kept fishing. Came back the next morning , dug it up and then had it weighed. Prbably lost 5 # to the sand.
This was before the national seashore came into existence and the boys would camp in tents on the beach. When they left for a few days they would just knock the tent down and let the sand cover it until they returned.

Thanks for the possible ID. The purpose of this thread was to make the culprit aware of what happened. I know of George and I know that he probably has friends who read this board so hopefully this will get back to him. It's never to late to learn something and I'm sure he must have felt bad about the potential consequences of what happend. I'm just surprised he didn't stop. When travelling in a buggy at highway speeds anything can happen - if I was a hundred feet closer to his buggy that tote could have been through my windshield. Would have ruined an almost perfect trip.
