An Open Invitation
I talked to JohnR yesterday on his cell - he was on his way to MV for the Derby, so with any luck maybe the next front page will be the Skipper hoisting a 50 with an BIG grin
Anyway, I sent him an invitation for an Open House we're having Saturday and Sunday October 9th and 10th for the Angler's Art as part of the Newport Merchant's Street Fair. I wanted to get other addresses to send out invites to S-B members but he recommended just posting it online.
So consider yourselves invited from me and Mrs. Crafty!
Of course, I also realized yesterday that Saturday the 9th is also the date for the S-B Rhody Leg - I was looking forward to the barbeque, chewing the fat with the crew and doing some fishing around SoCo with da boys but it looks like I'm outta the box Just after I nursed the old knee back into shape too...
John said he figured some of the Cape and Mass crew and the Rhody boys might come by on the way to Stonington for a chowder stop - we will be having free Drunken Blackfish Stew both days.
The new images we've just finished remastering and framing represent months of hard work and we'd love for you guys to see them and give us some feedback.
And maybe you'll get inspired by the images of some notable catches of striped bass that haven't been seen in years.
Hope to see to you guys here - we're just 3 blocks north of the Saltwater Edge off Lower Thames Street in Newport on Dearborn across from the Fleet ATM Center.

My dad'll be up in NH visiting his bro so I'm keeping an eye on his homestead and his dog.I got no problem bringing a dog fishing with me but a mini dachsund on the rocks a 1am ain't a good idea.So no tourny for me either.I'll be staying local so I just may come down and see ya Crafty.

I'm really looking forward to it...
I think what you're doing is so cool and very important from a historical/preservation perspective.

Crafty do you have a perminent display anywhere? I am really interested in your work and the history of our sport. I have to work both days this weekend and can't get down there.

Tynan19 -
I have a small gallery set up next to our offices where we'll have examples of our work displayed - most of the material is from my own collection.
The gallery is open by appointment which means all you have to do is PM me or call - we're currently planning on being Internet based and our website is now under construction.
I'm really trying to avoid a store-front - retail space in Newport is really expensive and it would also have to be staffed all year, which would cut into valuable fishing time
Just PM me whenever you want to come by to see our work -
Thanks!

Unfortunately my wife and I will be unable to attend. I have boat fishing Saturday (Cuttyhunk) and than the Pats Game on Sunday...good seats too.
We're right up the street and I'd love to see some of your pieces.
