In that situation Bunting was EXACTLY what needed to be done. It put the game winner on 3rd w/ 1 out and takes away the Double play. Plus Damon has been looking like me at the plate lately
Now if only they could friggin execute a bunt
I would make Damon and Belhorn go out there early and drop down 100 bunts before the game @ batting practice so they learn how to do it

But it did not work.....you made an out and then hit into a double play!!! Considering the meat of the lineup from Damon to Ortiz was due up with men on first and second and no outs.....I think swinging away was what should have been done, especially considering Damon is a horrible bunter as was evidenced by his popping up!

I think bunting was the right call, it is just too bad the redsox don't know how to do it. Now if we want to get on Francona, after one passball he should have put in Mirabelli!!! Varitek gave up 3 pass balls and almost cost us a run. And what was up with Ortiz of all people stealing, he was safe though. I wonder if that was on his own or if Francona gave him the green light.

In a discussion Goose, often times each party has a different opinion! I would not call this bitching! Do you have an opinion or are you just here to bitch about mine?

I heard this morning it was supposed to be a hit and run but Mentkewiecz never swung the bat.
Believe me when I say I was Out of My #$@#ing mind, at the time, at the thought of Ortiz stealing.

Yup! Keep heaping them on....there were bad decisions last night aplenty! However most of you are blind to that fact for the simple reason that all ended well!

Well.....yeah. Thats pretty much it. But at least they were trying to make something happen instead of just sitting on there asses and hoping to string together 4 singles to win it.
Bottom line is they were playing hard and although not everything they tried worked....they DID win!
Should Torre be second guessed for bringing in Rivera to pitch. I mean he just coughed up a game the previous night as well as pithing 2 full innings in that game. he brought him in and he coughed up another one.
