rod hanging pics

Need some new idea's for hangin rods, surf/boat. I'ld like to build something so it looks clean has easy access and can hold many rods.

My old set up was: surf rods, 2 2x4 with dowels stickin out the sides at an angle. The problem I found was the distance to set the 2by's. Glass rods had to be placed just right so they would not sag. For boat rods: I hung tuna hooks, grind the barb then with clear rubber hose over them. That was ok but a little pain in the bass to reach, I think them standing up is more practical.

Any brillant minds out there wanna share?

Goose....dang puter crapped out so no pic right now.....picture this..

take some 2" pvc pipe

cut into 1 1/4 wide pcs. like ring's

cut out 1/3 of the ring or whatever thickness u need to slide the rod into. so it looks like a C

drill 1 ,,,,,3/8" hole in the bottom of the C...now drill a hole in the top big enough for a screw.

the bottom hole will allow you to put a screwdriver and screw through..

screw this C to whatever you want to hang your rods from..put up as many as you need to hold the rods from sagging.

my ceiling down stairs have many of these C's..enough for 32 rod's of all sizes.

BOAT fish do count.

Here's something simple, made with track shelving without the shelves.

That's 16 rods, many with reels, on a small section of wall.

Best regards,
Roger

I like , these they can go on the ceiling or the wall and the foam pretects the blanks from scratching.

i put two nails in the wall with foam covering to hang my rods i suppose you could get long nails or screws that could hold more than 1 rod

Goose,
I put this together in about 1 hour, went wild with a drill press then ripped in half lengthwise. It works great. It is like a rod rack you see in the tackle shops but mounted on the garage wall. It doesn't hold all my stuff (a lot of stuff was on the boat, truck and some in the attic) but most of my daily needs can be met.

taking the pic down...

Sandman

Instead of contributing your posts last week to the "symptoms/sickness" thread. You could have merely posted that picture. It speaks a thousand words....

Honestly, it is not that many rods. that pic was taken in the summer when I finished the rack, it had about 2/3 of my stash. But you have to remember its not just me; I have two young kids and a wife who fish too, and we fish a lot as a family. Some of the stuff is not that high end either and some of the stuff is pretty old that I don't fish with anymore but could never part with it.
