Napatree or B.I.?
I'm coming back this friday and I need some expert opinion from the boys from Rhody, should I do Block Island or Napatree, and why? C'mon, spill your guts.

Dave, I'm not from RI but if it were me I would be heading to BI. I have had tnothing but success here and this time of year "anything" can happen. There are so many different places to fish on BI. Check ou the book (forget the author) Surfcasters Quest - devoted to fishing BI.
Good Luck,
Iceman

Block Island. Overall better fishing and also easier access once on the Island.

Well, thats 2 for BI, and if it's good enough for Mr Nolan, it's good enough for me too. I was kinda leanin towards BI anyway , as I've always wanted to fish there. OK next question, where do ya start out there? Does any one know of any maps that are available online? What kinda plugs? Do you need Korkers? Is it safe to fish it alone, or is a partner advisable?

Let's see 500-600 yards of fishable water at the end of Napatree vs miles of beautiful rocky shoreline, do you have to ask?

yes bring Korkers, as plenty of rocks but plenty of beautiful beach also. forgot the names of all the places as it has been 2 years since last visit. I did well there on live eel's at night, there are basically 9 - 10 hot spots to fish on BI, and it's great b/c you could literally nail them there day or night. Go to the local tackle shop and ask, they will lead you in right direction. I know by the S. Lighthouse right by there is exceptional (think it might be caled the cut), you have to walk down these crazy stairs and it's all rock baby but the payoff is tremendous. Just know how to get to these places but unable to give directions - sorry. Wish I could help you more, get that book, I mentioned earlier - it's all about fishing Block, where to fish it, what times, what tides, good book...

I'm heading to BI in a week.
SE point light house does look very fishy but is a bear to fish from shore.
Don't overlook the West/SW side of the island too. Great rocky beaches and coves, and easy walking access.

Block - with Korkers - with at least one other rock hopper. TOO many places to turn an ankle and then need to crawl up long, winding, paths that the vegetation has grown over ...
Check these previous Block links:

HEY, what about me?
Maybe next year I guess huh.
I've never been to Block or Nantucket either. Never surf-fished on the Vinyard either.
