Mr. & Mrs. Goosefish (John, how long is she gonna continue to let you fish like you do?)
Background: Some of Eben's unbelievably beautiful hand-made glass creations. Good place to pick a nice Christmas present!

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Kadir "Rockhopper" Akturk (aka Mr. Aquaskinz) with a 27 lber HE BLOODY MUGGED FROM ME ON THE VINEYARD A FEW YEARS BACK.
I made him drag the thing (with all his crap - man does he pack a lot of gear!) for 2 miles over sand. Death march fishing.

My buddy Hans with a nice fish taken right after sunrise on a trip with Bassmaster just as we were about to leave the Outer Beaches.
If recall correctly, the fish was taken on a Bassmaster pikie, when nothing else in the freakin' plug bag was working.

Rebecca, (yes it's a SHE), the very capable and very hardworking mate on my last trip to the OBX this past summer, with a nice mahi-mahi I hooked.
She can probably outfish a lot of guys I know.

Speaking of coolers, here is a NY DEC officer, inspecting our catch of winter flounder for shorts (stoopid fishing). Of course, there were none, but it was nice to see the enforcement out there.
p.s. if you wanna haul some serious tonnage of winter flounder in March, contact Crazy Alberto.

Hmmmm. The stripping basket, the general profile, and especially the fanny pack ring a bell.
What's throwing me is no fly vest
