Please Pray for our friend!!!!
Many of you know Rick Newcomb the owner of Fore River Bait & Tackle. Every year he goes to Thialand for a vacation. As of last night the family still had not heard from him.
He had talked to his family a week ago and said that he may go to Cambodia for Christmas but knowbody is sure if he went there or not, he could be there as there are some places he stay's in Cambodia that are not very accessable to phone's.
With the death tole rising in this terrible tragidy please pray for our friend so that he may return safely home. If I hear any more news I will let you know, right now It is in God's hands!!!! Please also pray for all of the people in those countries that have lost so much!!!!

Jules, I was thinking of Rick...I know he goes over every year but I was hopeful that he does not usually go over until after the holidays.... I will hope he is ok and say a prayer. Such an incredibly terrible tragedy...the scope of it I don't think has yet been seen. I pray for Rick's safe return and for all those affected.

One big prayer for everyone there, I guess.
Official death toll stands at 50,000 (up from 33,000 estimate this a.m., of which 1/3 were estimated to be children).

And the aftermath deathtoll could be just as high through disease and such. Lack of food and clean water.

I was shocked at some of the news tonight, I hope he wasn't in the middle of all that, sadly it could be some time before word gets back; it's a mess over there right now.

Oh man! Rick was the first friend I ever had. He helped me to start my surfcasting pursuit on the first day I went by his shop. I hope that he is okay. I want to see him around the upcoming season.
I am going to pray for his well-being now.

Prayers are said for his safety -
The amateur video footage now starting to appear is horrifying when you realize that it is the last moments of those many poor souls caught in the surge.
Heard on MSNBC that actor/director Sir Richard Attenborough was on holiday there and lost both his daughter and grand-daughter.
This is a tragedy of almost unimaginable proportions in terms of damage and loss of life.

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Hi Gang, still have not heard anything, Those poor people there, I can not even begin to imagine the devistation there and the loss of life. God be with all those people. I am going to call Rick's step sister again later and see if they have heard anything at all.
