BeachMaster Needles

Hey guys I just picked myself up some of the 3 and 1/4 oz Beach Master Needles this weekend, I was just wondering what size hooks I should put on them?

4/0's. I use VMC's but I'm pretty sure Beachmaster doesn't like the split ring...

Use the split rings with closed eye 4/0 vmc's. They will not adversely affect the action.

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I spoke to Beachmaster about this yesterday actually. Although this may apply to his Musso style needle as well, for the batch of needles that are being produced right now you can go with hooks up 5/0.

It's built to sit towards the tail end and obviously cast like a bullet because of that. You can tailor the pairing of the hooks to make the needle sink the way you want; to make it sit a little bit more foward put a 4/0 on the back and a 5/0 on the belly.

And last but not least, speaking of the new needle, 200 of them just arrived this morning. The shop will be closed till Monday because we are packing up to go to the Marlboro Fly Fishing Show this weekend, but as soon as we get back they will be available online and in the store.

I'll put an additional post up when we have pics.

i go with 3/0 or 4/0 VMC trebles and split rings. the fish liked both set ups this fall.

one of the guys fishing Block with me this fall had 3/0 closed eye mustads on front and back with split rings. he hooked into a bruiser that ended up pulling both sets of split rings right off the plug...

Really? But for the most part I don't think I've ever seen them in a tackle shop, unless he is selling through other means? I have some of his stuff, half of it I forget where I even bought it, but I know it wasnt local.

Ive learned many things on the internet.. Most importantly, never mention where your fishing spots are... Secondly, never mention where Habs needles are in stock as well as beachmaster and Tattoo

Well if you don't wanna go to New York, I would try CT thats where I got mine. Not sure if I should say exactly where, I don't wanna burn anyones tackle shop supplier.

Pro Fishing in Flushing and Bernie's in Sheepshead Bay often have Beachmasters, if you live in the City.
