Falmouth
needless to say, my Maine fishing days are over until May. The wife and I took a ride yesterday because she loves Surf Beach and old Silver. I was surprised that absolutely nobody was fishing these beaches. Am I missing something? If these places are any good I may be taking more rides next fall.

Marty, this time of year at Old Silver it can be hit or miss. That's why I like the fish funnel.

Hey , we don't need a crowd when I'm there next May! A few of the guests of honor will do.
Everyone knows there's no stripers in Buzzards Bay

Speaking of a rock under water, how's this? On an ebbing tide, with the SW wind around ten knots, if you creep in to the ledge lined up on the lighthouse at about 152 degrees (SE) and put the bow right up against that pyramid shaped rock that covers & uncovers with the wave action from 3/4 high on down, put it right in there where the west end of the ledge meets the boulders between there & the big rock pile...and drop Mr. Wiggly in, just so, you might get a tickle now & then from Ms. Twinky's Big Sister...
And if the SW kicks up over, say, 15 knots and that three-way-rip forms up (and doesn't get too distracting...heh, heh, heh)...if you happen to have an xtra-nice sized edition of 'ol Jake No-Shoulders on your line, you never know but what Big Aunt Bertha herself might come calling right in that spot...but, hey, what do I know...? There's probably nuthin there but skates & sea robins... or a few scup...and maybe a paint chip or two from where me and F/V ROCCUS bounced off them rocks a time or two...
