Boone needlefish?
is there a way to distinguish older boone needles from newer ones if they are not in the original packaging? i wanted to get a couple for the collection, and a couple to wire and fish. thanks.

Do they still produce the Boone needlefish. I saw some the other day in a Tackle store. They were only like 5 inches and really skinny.

what do you want for it? looks like a good candidate for wiring.

drillin through the lead can be a pain. an the paint don't hold up well on them .It'll be worse if u don't seal em.Dip the whole plug in some urethane.sounds like the beginning of a plugbuilder to me.

T,
I can't really tell the difference - although a friend of mine showed me a really old (1960s) 7 inch model that did look and feel different than todays version. The real popular size was the 6 1/4 inch with hook hangers. The 7 inch screw eye model was Ok but the smaller one was hot during its time. Just didn't hold up well. I've heard of at least one needlefish manufacturer that will be releasing a skinny needlefish soon. About time - all the newer needles are fat and do have their applications. Those skinny models sure did the trick years ago.

DZ - i think i know who you are talking about with the needles. i met with him a few weeks ago and we talked a bit about his needles coming out again and block island. i know i'll be giving them a beating this year out there!

yeah, Habs released another sweet addition to the best plug line on the market today. they do not, however, do what i want a needle to do in one application. as i said when i spoke to Habs on the phone yesterday, there are times when you want a FLOATER.

Toby, Tony Stetzko's needles are floaters and are pretty skinny. Have you seen them? He also has a small one that is a sinker built from alluminum.
