Proud To Be A Military Parent
I am writting this in regards to my son. He will be deployed for the mid east soon. he is now in ft hood for final training. i havent heard from him in 2 weeks. im sure he has been busy and cannot call. he has been in the military for 12 yrs. 6 on subs and 4 on destroyer. 2 on shore. He switched to the ANG about 2 yrs ago. well he is being deployed now, and i feel my heart is heavy with the unknown. He is a patriot of America . And will defend him and others for what he is doing , RIGHT OR WRONG.

Thank him for the job he's doing for us.
I too, have a niece (ANG) an nephew(Navy SEALs) both serving in Iraq for a while now. My sister's only two children. Nervous times for sure, but they know we're proud of the them for their commitment.

yea right! I'm no kisser, but I will never go under risk my life for %$%$%$%$'s cause because I believe that it's not right. You're son going into war do me no good. Good for you! But I do hope he like many of our soldiers make it home safe.
[try not to swear stormfish thanks and maybe keep your politics off this thread, it's not what this is about, it's about patriotism. ]

I've found that most kids in the military learn very important values from their parents. Patriotism is a honorable trait.
Some kids join the military just for a job or for college money, but those that join because of basic values excel and normally stay in.
StriperJerk, be proud. You did a good job raising your son. Fair winds and following seas to him.

Striperjerk1-
Be very proud of your son! He is a true patriot! Please thank him for his service!
Please disregard the MORONIC comments from the obviously uninformed and poorly educated, Stormfish. He has a history of making such ignorant remarks:
"I don't understand how anyone who is in the middle class or lower could vote for this doosh. "- 09-09-2004
"Pollutes the east coast like the Capital of Texas, yea have you notice the stinging sensation of rain lately??? or the fact that we cannot stay in the sun more than 30 minutes..." 09-09-2004
"Sure the machines weren't rig... Seem like Gore had a substantial amount of Dibs and Chads compared to Bush. But that's over with! The northeastern ozone is depleting, but that's because of the poor emission regulations in the past and for Bush to loosen it up... Let's see if it's safe to go out in the sun for 5 min if this continues." 09-09-2004
"Bush in my mind is comparable to a pissy dude with a small shaft or Omarosa in the Apprentice." 09-09-2004
"Bush would not have a chance if we'd go by popular votes" 09-21-2004
Although I must admit that it is hard NOT to believe the statements of someone with such a fine grasp of the ENGLISH language.

I do so enjoy the posts of cowards who always have a reason why sitting home is so much better than taking a stand.
It’s always the same lame excuse. Would you fight if Gore won? Or %$%$%$%$%$?
I don’t have kids but I can tell you from my shipmates who do that what you are going thru is harder than being deployed. My buddies who have children who are now serving claim it is much harder worrying about a loved one than to be the one fighting.
It’s nerve wracking, your wife will want to get an 800 # so he can call 24/7 and the stress will be unbearable for his deployment.
Keep off the news networks, save shoe boxes for care packages and stock up on cup-a-soups, hard candy, jerky and magazines.
Stay positive

Striperjerk1, Thank your son for me the next time you get to talk to him. On care packages, the things need most are common items like coffee, deodorant, cigarettes (if he smokes), toilet paper, pictures. My nephew and his father were both over there for a year so I have an idea of what you are going through. My brother in law told me my nephew just re-enlisted so he wil be going back soon. Here's to all "our service members" returning home safely. And may there deployments be uneventful.

Yea don't listen to A-holes like me... Although I don't believe I'm poorly educated but ignorant. It's all part of being young. I do appreciate your son serving the country for citizens like myself.
years from now when I'm sitting in my office, I'll ponder and thank your son for making it possible.
Stormfish please think before you write. when you think it is good , look it over again.
