How much gear is enough?
Ok I bet Slip on my blank thread, that I would probably win the award for owning the "least" amount of gear. I long since forced myself out of the habit of "got to have that" or "man just one more outfit" and got into the habit of only keeping a minimum selection of quality gear at my disposal. On the salt water side my only outfits are as follows.
2 - GLB841M Lami custom w/Baitrunner 3500's
1 - Cheep Wally-World 6 foot ugly stick w/6500C
1 - GW841M Lami custom w/Stradic 4000
1 - Titanium Lami 7' spinning (number somewhere) w/Stradic 4000
1 - Ditto casting 7'6" w/Calcutta 200
That's the extent of what I'd consider true striper gear and even the 7 foot Titanium spinning is way too light for anything but early and winter schoolies. Without getting into details on the freshwater side, the rest of the outfits would consist of 3/3 split of custom spinning/casting oufits. Those would all be Lami GW series custom by me, with Abu round casting and quantum 2/4 series spinning.
I'd almost guarantee I'd loose the plug count, because I can fit every plug I own in probably 3 Planno 3700 boxes. The sit in my boat neglected, except for the occassional popper being thrown once in a while. I've got 3-4 of those same boxes full of various plastic offerings, plus 2 large ziplocks full of my go to baits in my 2 usual colors.
I'd be surprised if many people have less gear.
