nova scotian 50 lb bass

A few years back me and my brother used to whitetail hunt up in middleton nova scotia After we both tagged out on 2 nice bucks hunting was over. Our guides took us trout fishing .On the way we passed the annapolis river i asked the guides whats in there trout? No he said nothing but stripers and only in the summer . He said though there all big and they chase gaspereau "herring" after fishing he showed me pictures of these bass and honest to god there wasn't one of them under 45 lbs some way over 50 I';; have to dig out the picture of him holding one that size. The river is more like a canal barely 20 yards across and they just liveline herring and hammer them .Now its been about 15 years since i've been up there I wonder how it is now . I checked the fish and game records and a 63 lber was taken at st johns river at the reversing falls in 1979 .Seems to me i remember seeing an article somewhere that showed an ice fishery for striped bass somewhere up in the great white north . It makes me wonder if the new world record might live up there pete santini
